Alexander Tall
Alexander Tall, Class of 2000: Praised by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch for his "pleasing presence, splendid diction and a rich, expressive voice with a wide range," Alexander Tall has recently retired from a fulfilling 10-year career in opera. He has sung with the New York City Opera, Opera Company of Philadelphia, Chicago Opera Theater, Florida Grand Opera, Wolf Trap Opera, Fort Worth Opera, the San Francisco Opera's Merola Opera Program, the National Symphony Orchestra, the Berkshire Choral Festival, and many other fine performing arts organizations. An active concert performer, Mr. Tall has appeared in recital in New York, Philadelphia, Boston, St. Louis, France, and Portugal. Mr. Tall was the winner of the Theodor Uppman Award from the William Matheus Sullivan Foundation. Today, Alexander is a student at Columbia University, where he studies statistics. A Dean’s List student, Mr. Tall was recently inducted in the Columbia University School of General Studies Honor Society. He is also an active violist, currently serving as principal violist of the Columbia University Orchestra and associate principal violist of the Manhattan Symphony. Mr. Tall has performed in venues throughout New York with these groups, including Carnegie Hall
