Tom Lupfer
Tom Lupfer, class of 1999, is a graduate of the Program in Educational Theatre at NYU, where he earned a M.A. Currently, he teaches theatre at Glenfield School, a performing arts Magnet School in Montclair, NJ. This spring, Tom and his performing arts colleagues were awarded a grant to commission a new performance piece, Then and Now: A Ceremony for This Time. The creation of this project was filmed for an upcoming documentary film about the importance of the arts in public education. Tom's students have appeared on Broadway in Shrek, Mary Poppins, Bonnie and Clyde, and the upcoming Peter Pan adaptation, Air.
Tom serves as the Producer/Director of the theater program at Pascack Valley HS in Hillsdale. His work is perennially nominated for Best Direction of a Play at the Montclair State University Theater Night Awards, winning awards for The Laramie Project (And Ten Years Later) (Best Drama, 2012) and The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) (Best Comedy, 2011). Though primarily focused on working behind the scenes, in recent years, Tom has appeared on stage in Company (David) and in Rajiv Joseph's All That Intimacy (Ty).
